The Context:Information Technology has moved beyond being an administrative necessity to being a strategic enabler in the 21st century organization. At the Meristem Group, we are building a leading IT department that seeks to understand, enable as well as enhance the strategic intents of the group. We seek to do this through an effective coordination of IT infrastructure, all of which are not ends themselves but only means to ensuring overall achievement of organizational objectives.
The Role:The core purpose of the role is to manage the network and internetwork infrastructure of the Meristem Group. The role also supports servers, desktops and other hardware platforms.
The Person:The Hardware and Infrastructure Support Officer should have a relevant first degree as well as a comfortable understanding of the implementation and managing of Cisco devices: switches, routers and firewalls. The person should also have a working knowledge of other hardware devise like servers, desktops and printers.Key competencies required to execute the role
Technical core
Demonstrate ability to configure Cisco routers to achieve secure connections.Effective understanding of IP addressing and services like DHCP, DNS, NAT and PAT.Ability to manage and troubleshoot PCs, Servers, printer, etc.

Inventory management skillsA working understanding of IT processes in the financial service industryDexterity with Microsoft Office suite.

The Person:The Operating Systems Support Officer should have a relevant first degree as well as Microsoft Operating Systems certifications. The person should have an effective understanding of Windows Active Directory design, implementation, troubleshooting, security and optimization. Key competencies required to execute the role
